Lynx Model Works is a thriving succesful business specialising in Steam Engines of all kinds. LMW was formed by John Clarke, a model engineer with over 38 years experience in producing live steam locomotives, traction engines, stationary and steam launch engines and rolling stock, based in the county of Lincolnshire (Lincs) in the United Kingdom. We now have a Workforce of 5 - all producing beautiful models and full-sized steam boat engines.

We produce real steam locomotives in any gauge/scale from gauge ‘0‘ (1.25inch) to 10.25 inch, (including 35mm, 45mm, 2 1/2”, 3 1/2”, 5”, 7 1/4”, 9 1/2” and 10 1/4”) together with associated riding/driving carriages, trackwork and lineside accessories to individual commissions. Traction Engines to 6” scale, Model and full-size Stationery and Steam Launch Engines are also made to order.

One of our aims is to assist other model engineers complete their projects by making parts which they may not have the time or facilities to produce for themselves. We also are happy to repair, renovate and complete unfinished models and assist in the reworking and build of any “kit” item.
